Sreya is a self-trained visual artist based out of Kolkata, India. She set up her label 'Tish Tosh' in 2020, which was born out of a want to create designs that are unique and personalised. To achieve this, she works in close collaboration with her clients, whose thoughts and inspirations find expression in her creations.
Tish Tosh is a label dedicated to customised wearable and usable art. The garments are ‘made-to-order’, each a unique piece of art that is personalised for the wearer. Jackets, t-shirts, caps and shoes are among the wearables that are hand-painted and upcycled with custom designs. Other than garments, Tish Tosh also customises interiors and home decor, like walls and wooden furniture, coaster sets, coffee mugs and nameplates, fridge magnets.
As a visual artist, Sreya likes to explore the nuances of various mediums and experiments with recycled scrap materials, clay-sculpting, textures to express herself. She is also interested in collaborating with artists from different disciplines and curated her first collaborative show at Ghare Baire, Kolkata in 2021.
She also has a series of hand painted jewellery made in collaboration with Kolkata based store, Myra.
She is a co-founder and designer at Crew Essentials, an e-commerce brand dedicated to curating merchandise for the film industry, which was launched in February,'24.
She also founded Art Care Collective with her colleague Sumaiya Baba, which is a space that uses art as a therapeutic medium through workshops for adults in Kolkata.
